Auburn Ski Club is a non-profit organization that promotes winter sports for children and adults from The Northern California and Northern Nevada Area. ASC was founded in 1928 and is the oldest ski club in the region. Programs offered include United States Ski and Snowboard Association Competition Programs, High School Race Programs, Recreational Junior and Adult Programs and Nordic Programs. Currently ASC has 4500 active members. The Auburn Ski Club Training Center (pictured below) is based at Boreal Ridge and trains at Boreal Mountain and Alpine Meadows Ski Resorts. Combined these resorts provide the best possible training venues. The Club holds many on and off snow events every year with annual attendance reaching some 5000 participants and many thousands of spectators. Scholarship Programs Auburn Ski Club hands down several scholarships every season to up and coming athletes of all ages. The scholarship recipients must meet specific standards of excellence on and off the hill. ASC requires good grades and citizenship along with athletic talent. The money given is used to help pay for coaching/training fees, equipment, race fees, tuition and travel expenses. These scholarships allow several athletes to participate in winter sports that may not be able to otherwise. The following are the specific programs offered:
